History

BBF INGENIEROS SAS is a Consultancy company based in Uruguay. Its main objective is the development of projects of Civil Engineering, specifically Hydraulics, focused on infrastructure for farming development.

The specific scope of interest is Hydraulic Engineering: drainages, irrigation, reservoirs, pumping stations, internal roading, culverts/bridges. Along with this, it holds a strong Topographic component for imagery management, data processing, DTMs, GIS, etc.

The origin of the company dates back to the 1970’s, when the first associates settled in the east region of Uruguay, with the aim of servicing the market with Topography and Surveying, accompanying the rapid growth of the rice sector at that time. Rice technology demands high performing professional services to accomplish appropriate drainage, flood irrigation and paddock harvesting.

The burst of massive agriculture areas in Uruguay in the decade of 2000s, a new area of knowledge is added to the services: sprinkler irrigation. As a result, came the development of modern technology linked to water management, pumping stations and irrigation equipment.

New market demands and public regulations allowed BBF Engineers to provide service in new areas. Examples of this are: complex hydraulics meshing for troughs supply, technological update of water management, environmental dimension of projects, development of multi-users irrigation projects.

In the same decade of 2000s BBF Engineers saw the possibility (and seized it) of exporting its knowledge to the North of Argentina. At the same time, Paraguay’s market was boarded.

In Argentina and Paraguay, BBF Engineers holds 20 years of working history servicing the development of farming infrastructure. Nowadays, clientele is varied, ranging from individual farmers or groups of farmers to big international corporations who demand specific requirements. One stronghold of BBF Engineers are big scale projects.
